San Francesco Antonio Fasani
Lucera, August 6, 1681 - Lucera, November 29, 1742
was born to a humble family on August 6, 1681 Lucera, an ancient city of Apulia, Daunia. He entered as a young man among the Minor convent of his native country and then complete their novitiate in Monte Sant'Angelo sul Gargano, where she made a 23 August 1696. Then, in 1703 he was sent to the convent of Assisi where he was ordained priest on September 11, 1705. Passed to Rome, in the College of St. Bonaventure, he returned to Assisi until 1707 when he returned to Lucera. Elected provincial minister, became part of an intense apostolic covering all countries of the captains and neighboring cities. Always attentive to the needs of the poor and suffering, devoted to the Virgin, was especially close to the prisoners and convicts who accompanied to the place of execution. He died November 29, 1742. Even today his tomb in the church of San Francesco in Lucera is the object of frequent pilgrimages. Beatified on April 15, 1951 by Pope Pius XII was canonized by John Paul II April 13, 1986.
